Last night CollegeHumor put together another one of their All-Nighters, where they film and release a video every hour for an entire night. I dropped by the office and made another contest video with the genius Amir Blumenfeld of Jake and Amir fame. We wrote it in an hour and a half, shot it in an hour and a half and edited it in two hours. It also includes an ending for a short film I’ve wanted to use for years. I’ve officially sold the pitch for my next screenplay. This one will be for Brian Grazer and Kim Roth at Imagine for Universal. It’s a romantic comedy idea I’ve had for a while now called No Hearts Club and I’m excited to get started. Here’s the announcement in the Hollywood Reporter.

Elle Canada asked me to write something for their magazine, so I went to my friend Sophia Rossi for advice as to what was in “Elle Canada.” She said, “Ben, you should write fake horoscopes.” So I did…and here they are. There is an Icelandic human being known as Stony who takes Jake and Amir sketches and remixes them as songs. This “Stony” is amazing. I have heard a bunch of his earlier stuff and loved it…and now, I am lucky enough to be in his latest creation. It combines a bunch of old Jake and Amir sketches including Mountain Hiker. I’ll be lending my voice to the new Disney XD animated show- Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja!

We have been recording for months and this show is right in the sweet spot of comedy and action for both kids and adults. Created by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, here’s the description from Disney- “Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja follows the fast-paced adventures of unlikely hero Randy Cunningham who must protect his school and the planet from certain destruction. It combines a unique mix of full-on buddy comedy with awesome ninja action.”

I play Randy Cunningham/The Ninja and the rest of the voice cast is amazing. Here’s a taste of some of the series regulars and guest stars coming on the show which premieres Fall 2012 on Disney XD.

So, when Ben Lyons and Knicks Now asked me to do an interview and play a game of Horse (Amar’e) for the Knicks website, I was insanely excited. My Oscars and Emmys

It was three years ago when Dan Harmon (Community), Rob Schrab (The Sarah Silverman Program) and myself (Rejectedjokes.com) wrote Hugh Jackman’s musical opening number for the 81st Annual Academy Awards. We decided that because of the recession, the musical opening number should have no budget. It was an amazing experience and somehow the three of us came away with Emmys for our work on the Academy Awards. I figured with the Oscars airing tonight, why not repost the Oscar video, the Emmy acceptance speech and an interview I did three years ago for MakingOf about the whole process. Bottom line- Rob Schrab is a creative mastermind and Dan Harmon is a genius. Still to this day, none of this feels real.
