I am insanely honored to announce that I am writing/acting in a movie that Seth Rogen is attached to star in and Adam McKay is attached to direct. That is obviously the coolest sentence I’ve ever written. These humans are heroes to me and now I get to play in the same world as Seth, Adam, Evan Goldberg, Point Grey, Gary Sanchez and Good Universe. This is going to be fucking awesome. Seth, Evan and Adam’s quotes from the press release say it best-
Rogen and Goldberg: “Every 2,000 years, the planets of our galaxy align in a perfect line that funnels the cosmic energies of the universe to flow into one perfect comedic collaboration. The time is now. This is that project. Nothing will ever be the same. McKay and Schwartz are real smart, well-endowed guys, and we couldn’t be more excited to be working with them.”
McKay: “Evan and Seth have been doing amazing things and we’re so excited to work with them. Ben, not so much. Most of my problems with him are personal ones, but I have to give it up. He did come up with a great idea.”
HERE’S MY SECOND APPEARANCE ON CONAN WHERE WE CHAT ABOUT RABBIS, JEAN-RALPHIO, FACIAL HAIR AND THE MOON’S BUTTHOLE
Last night, I made my second appearance on Conan to chat about my new movie This Is Where I Leave You (coming out 9/19)! As always, the legend Conan O’Brien was hilarious and wonderful. Right before I came on, I noticed that the moon in Conan’s backdrop looked like a butthole…so…I brought that up. Watch the interview, split up between the two videos below!
The wonderful Manhattan Magazine asked me to write an article about how much I love New York City in exactly 400 words. I tried to stick to my improv roots and write it all in one shot with no edits…and I may have failed. Read the exactly 400 word article by clicking the photo above or CLICKING HERE.
Last night I made my first guest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote the movie This Is Where I Leave You! An enormous thank you to everyone over at JKL for having me, it was an honor. Jimmy is so hilarious and kind, I had so much fun. Here’s a clip from last night’s show of me chatting with Jimmy about an awkward moment I had acting with the legend Robert De Niro. Watch the clip streaming above or by CLICKING HERE.
I make my sixth appearance on Matt Besser’s wonderful improv podcast- improv4humans. For those who haven’t heard the podcast before, Matt invites a group of improvisers to record an entire long form improv show off of your suggestions, articles in the paper, etc. This episode includes Besser, Mookie Blaiklock, Gil Ozeri and myself. It’s a super fun one. Listen streaming above or by clicking one of the photos below. NSFW.
I am in the September Issue of Glamour Magazine wearing a leather jacket in the summer time, trying my best to look like Star-Lord. Pardon the mustache and mutton chops, I was still filming The Walk at the time. Thank you so much to Glamour for including me in the “New Wave” section next to so many beautiful and talented humans.
I Will Be Co-Hosting a Simpsons Marathon Live Video Stream this Saturday!
This Saturday, August 23rd at 9:30AM (Pacific time), I will be co-hosting a live video stream with Simpsons writer Matt Selman to be watched hand and hand (eye and eye?) with the Simpsons marathon happening right now over at FXX. We will start at 9:30am and keep going till viewers get bored. This isn’t sponsored by anyone, nobody is getting paid, it’s just a bunch of people from the show and fans of the show getting together in front of a laptop to chat Simpsons because we love the show. There will be a barrage of special guests, actors/actresses, comedians, musicians and a flurry of people who have worked on the show in the last twenty five years. It will be part Director’s commentary, part crazy characters, part special guests and part insanity. Or it will be none of that because I couldn’t figure out how to work the live stream. Either way-
So grab a Duff, join the live stream and enjoy the marathon with us starting this Saturday AM. As we get closer to the date, I’ll post all the viewing info on my twitter account- www.twitter.com/rejectedjokes
Some wonderful person has posted the EXTENDED NEVER BEFORE SEEN BONUS Rodney Waber clip from last year’s Comedy Bang Bang TV show with America’s Sweetheart Anna Kendrick and Scott Aukerman. In this episode, I play Rodney Waber, publicist to Harrison Ford who by mistake thought Scott wanted him on the show instead of Harrison. I forgot the last sixty seconds of this ever happened. We finally unlock the secret to When Harry Met Sally’s famous deli scene.
Seth Rogen and James Franco put together a special for the VMAs as their characters from their new movie The Interview. In the special, called Dave Skylark’s Very Special VMA Special, I play Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea and Jason Derulo’s publicist. I also represent everyone else in music. Yes…everyone. The video includes Timothy Simons, Joe Mande, Nicole Byer and Alice Wetterlund. Thanks to Seth and Evan for inviting me to play. Check out the RED BAND video streaming above or by CLICKING HERE. For a bonus talking head video of me as everyone’s publicist CLICK HERE.
For the next month, CollegeHumor’s first feature length film “CoffeeTown” is available on HBOGO. How convenient is that? It’s just over the size of one Game of Thrones episode and there’s far more comedy in it, so why not check it out? The movie stars Glenn Howerton (Always Sunny in Philadelphia), myself (Parks and Rec, House of Lies, the internet?), Steve Little (Eastbound and Down), Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights, GI Joe) and Josh Groban (MUSIC!!!). It has done great on iTunes and VOD services and now here it is on HBOGO. Watch the trailer above and check the movie out today!
